Principal's Message
It is a privilege and an honor to be the educational leader and principal of South View High School. As soon as you walk into school, it is evident that South View High School is a school where the teachers, students and administrators are excited to attend and be a part of the Tiger Family. Every teacher, staff member, parent, and administrator plays an important role in making this year a great one for each of our Tigers!
It is our goal that each student realizes their highest potential through our challenging academic programs. We want each child to develop the skills that matter most~the abilities to think and learn across disciplines, connect ideas, engage in effective communication, think critically and creatively, and collaborate with peers in a positive manner. At South View, we place a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, active student involvement, academic rigor, and preparation for global competitiveness. SVHS offers many opportunities to our students. South View High School also has one of the largest and strongest Cultural Arts Departments in Cumberland County.
In the realm of extracurricular activities, our Athletic Program is competitive not only in the county, region and state, but also on a national level. The South View Athletic Department is made up of more than thirty-seven different teams playing sports – it is a total program that excels on different playing surfaces, excels academically in the classroom, and does a tremendous service for the community. Our Tiger Marching Band has a large membership and receives numerous awards and invitations to perform across the country.
Please take an opportunity to visit our community and our school. When you talk with parents, teachers and students, you will find out very quickly why “Everybody wants to be a Tiger!”
