SVHS Key Club

Leadership – Caring – Inclusiveness – Character Building
Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. What makes Key Club so successful is the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities.Today, Key Club exists on more than 5,000 high school campuses, primarily in the United States and Canada. Growth efforts, however, have taken the Key Club experience internationally to Canada, the Caribbean nations, Central and South America, and most recently to Asia and Australia.
Key Club International is an organization of individual Key Clubs and is funded by nominal dues paid by every member. Its officers are high school leaders elected by the members at district and International conventions. For more information on joining in on the fun and service please see Mr. Kem in the Counseling Office!
SVHS KEY CLUB IMPORTANT SERVICE PROJECTS:
Support for the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw

The Boys and Girls Home is situated in Lake Waccamaw and is a residential facility that strives to mend the wounds caused by abuse, neglect or other family dysfunction.

Kiwanis/UNICEF ELIMINATE Project

With the Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.  To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take US$110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family.

March of Babies – March of Dimes

When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. And it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies. We’ve been walking since 1970 and have raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies.

Please contact Ms.Autry, Key Club Adviser for more information about this club.
