Jostens will be at SVHS on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the auditorium from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. They will be taking orders for class rings, cap and gowns and all the exciting graduation extras.

Jostens will also be at SVHS during lunches on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, to take orders.

Please read the material carefully to ensure that all required classes and graduation requirements are met before any proposed schedule changes are made. While only students in grade 11 are eligible to compete for National Merit Scholarships, taking the test in earlier grades provides excellent practice for taking the SAT in grade 11 and for taking the SAT college entrance assessment.

All tenth  and eleventh  grade students at South View High School are strongly encouraged to take the PSAT. The fee for your student to take the PSAT is $17, cash or check. Please make checks payable to South View High School.  This amount is due to South View High School by September 13, 2019. A limited number of fee waivers are available on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible students in eleventh grade who meet USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines.

Students with disabilities who have been identified for testing accommodations in a 504 plan or an IEP (Individualized Education Program) may request accommodations for the PSAT though College Board.Requests for accommodations must be completed and received by College Board by August 26, 2019. Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has been working closely with the Cumberland County Emergency Management officials to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian. Based on weather projections and the State of Emergency issued by Gov. Roy Cooper, the school system will be closed on Thursday, September 5, 2019, and Friday, September 6, 2019, for all students and staff. 

Prime Time will be closed on Thursday, September 5, 2019, and Friday, September 6, 2019.

All after-school activities and events are canceled through Friday, September 6, 2019.

Make-Up Days:     * Wednesday, October 16, 2019, will now be a full day for students

                                * Monday, October, 21, 2019, will also be a make-up day for students

We will start with our Freshman students Tuesday morning. Order packets were distributed in homeroom but you can also order photos online through Lifetouch.

Senior Portrait make up days will be on Thursday, September 5, 2019 and Friday, September 6, 2019.

We will begin with our Senior girls being photographed on Thursday morning. Remember to wear a loose collared shirt or an undershirt for the drape, which is slightly off shoulder. Senior boys will be photographed on Friday morning. They should wear a collarless shirt so we can put the tux on for their photo. Please remember that there is a $15 sitting fee for Senior Portrait pictures. This is the last makeup days for Seniors Portraits, our Cap & Gown pictures will be scheduled later in the Spring.

Welcome Back Students For The 2019-2020 School Year!

We hope everyone had a safe and wonderful summer break! This is just a reminder that classes will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2019. This will be the first day of the 2019-2020 school year. Please make sure you are prepared and on time to begin an amazing year here in tiger country! GO TIGERS!
